Community Care

Over recent years, rights to housing and welfare benefits have been restricted and made more dependent on immigration status. Many people in need of basic support and accommodation now find that they have to turn to local authority community care provisions. They find that their rights depend on the complex interaction of immigration and community care law.

Members of the team

Members of the community care team have practised in this area over the course of recent years when these changes have been brought about. We have practitioners experienced in the areas that often arise in practice: asylum-seekers ands failed asylum seekers; overstayers; EEA nationals; section 21 assistance and Children Act cases. Members of the team also represent at the asylum support appeal pro-bono project.
