1 Mitre Court Buildings has always had at its heart a strong ethos of fearlessly protecting people’s rights. We passionately believe that it is particularly important to challenge the decisions of authority when those decisions unlawfully or unfairly infringe the rights and privileges of those who have been deprived of their liberty. The prison law team is a growing team in Chambers. Members provide first-class representation at all levels, from adjudicator hearings, Parole Board and recall of licence hearings, and in challenges to re-categorisastion, to judicial review.

Members of the team also have expertise in other fields, including crime, immigration, public law and mental health enabling them to provide clients with well-rounded advice and representation.
