Simon's practice encompasses all aspects of immigration and asylum work and he has over 8 years of experience in this field. He provides advice and representation in the following areas:

  • Points Based applications and appeals (Tiers 1,2 and 4)
  • Civil penalties imposed on employers for illegal workers
  • Unlawful detention
  • Asylum including subsidiary protection provided by the Qualification Directive
  • Deportation appeals
  • Human Rights
  • Entry Clearance

 

Profile

Simon joined Chambers as a pupil in 2000 and has, since 2001, been practising in the area of immigration and asylum. Previously Simon worked as legal research officer at the Campaign for Freedom of Information. He is able to advise on all aspects of information law including use of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. He is a member of the Specialist Immigration Funding Review Committee.
