Campbell practices in all aspects of immigration, and asylum, on both private and publicly funded matters. He is instructed widely on asylum and ECHR cases at the AIT, and on issues including cessation of asylum status, deportation, fresh applications, and immigration matters such as work permit employment, applications under the EC Turkey Agreement ('the Ankara Agreement'), entry clearance and issues relating to the curtailment of leave.
Campbell has a particular interest in cases involving challenges to detention under immigration powers before the High Court and appears as a pro bono advocate for BID.
Campbell is a defence advocate with experience ranging from the Youth Court to the Court of Appeal.
He has been instructed in jury trials for offences including racially aggravated harassment, intimidation of witnesses, and handling stolen goods. Campbell's other experience includes appeals to the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal, and prison adjudication hearings.
Campbell has a particular interest in cases involving immigration issues, abuse of process and disclosure issues.
Prior to coming to the Bar Campbell worked as a documentary photographer with an emphasis on the representation of migrant and refugee communities both in the UK and abroad, particularly in the Middle East. He also worked with the immigration team at the Avon and Bristol Law Centre and is active with the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
